    OMS started in 1901 in Japan and is now in 78 countries around the world. OMS is using sports, technology, arts, TESOL/ESL, and other creative means to reach Japanese youth, with the goal of new disciples and churches in Japan. Join us!

  • Macedonian Project Japan

    Though not exactly a sending organization, the Macedonian Project Japan is a point of contact for those interested in pursuing short-term missions in Japan—whether by college internship programs or personal interest—with a goal of doing long-term ministry. The Macedonian Project is connected with the Christian Church/Church of Christ and seeks especially to provide service opportunities to those churches.

  • Operation Mobilization JAPAN

    Outreach to the unengaged 30 million Japanese people living in rural Japan. Emphasis on disciples making disciples, trusting God that it will result in a Disciple Making Movement that will spread to other least reached areas of Japan. Also check out OM Ships—itinerary may include Japan. Two-month to two-year commitment.
  • Mustard Seed Network

    A network of gospel-centered churches in urban Japan. Their mission is to glorify God by making disciples through planting gospel-centered churches in Japan’s urban areas. A presence in Japan since 2008.
  • TEAM

    Organization with a very long history. Search “Asia” region on the Mission Opportunities tab or contact them. Long-term and short-term opportunities. Can also search keyword “Japan” in the top search bar for good general info on Japan.
  • Let’s Start Talking

    Organizes 2- to 6-week trips to serve missionaries by teaching English classes from the book of Luke. Known for their excellent training to minimize the burden on missionaries.
  • Commission to Every Nation

    CTEN is an interdenominational agency with missionaries throughout the world, including Japan.
  • Japan Mission

    Interdenominational mission with various opportunities.
  • Beyond

    Beyond sends long-term teams to unreached peoples to start church planting movements/disciple making movements (DMM).
  • OMF International (Japan)

    OMF Japan missionaries work in church-planting teams, alongside Japanese pastors and evangelists. They are also involved in the revitalization of struggling churches.
  • Mission to the World

    Presbyterian missions agency in the Tokyo/Chiba area.
  • A3

    A3 (formerly Asian Access) began in Japan in 1967 by coming alongside visionary pastors and leaders to partner in new ways to grow the church. Now with a network across Japan and a strong history of partnership, together we work toward a movement of Christlike leaders and disciple-making churches.
  • Pioneers

    Pioneers mobilizes teams to glorify God among unreached peoples by initiating church planting movements in partnership with local churches. In Japan, they focus on the SW region.
  • SEND

    A long-time mission organization (originally known as the Far East Gospel Crusade) with various fields around the world, including Japan. Site has interesting cultural information and more.
  • CRU (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ)

    Spend a summer in Japan or in the U.S. working with Japanese college students.
  • Japanese Evangelical Missionary Society (JEMS)
